Busy Holiday Season

My gosh, already I'm starting to have panic attacks about Christmas!  How on earth do people get all these things done in time? It's honestly maddening...

So, some background information.  I am going to Hawaii for Christmas, so I won't be in town for any Christmas dinners, which actually takes a giant load off of my shoulders. That being said, there are so many things to do before my trip, it isn't even funny!  So many things to buy beforehand, do, pack, etc.

And to think this year I pretty much finished all of my Christmas shopping for everyone on my fairly long list before October!  And still I find myself overwhelmed. Who has time to even buy wrapping paper?

Anyway, I just have to remember that this season the most important thing is that I am generous and happy. And while we're on the subject of that, have you heard of #HolidayRevolution2015 yet? I will be making my video for it sometime this week.  I was a little apprehensive at first because I generally boycott the Salvation Army, but I'm going to jump on board anyway because I figure this was alright for a one-time exception.

Anyway everyone, have a great night and remember to be merry this season! #imakisoda

The Attacks in Paris

Now I don't think I need to go into too much detail regarding what happened in Paris yesterday. Unless you're living in your furnace, you are probably aware that a multiple location terrorist attack by ISIS took place. Their message was loud and clear.

In the past when I heard of such atrocities, past and present, it always gave me feelings of fear, anger, and sadness. It is unfortunate that now I know what it feels like to live life normally, and suddenly have some wack job kill someone you love in a horrifying massacre. It's different now, and while you can never compare your situation to anyone else's, it's easy for things to turn into triggers.

Honestly my thoughts are going out to everyone in France, and Lebanon too. It absolutely breaks my heart that there are religious extremists causing death and destruction everywhere they go. Is this just how realistic humanity is always going to be? When do we throw our hands up and say enough, and how do we do that without killing more people?

Fun Overdose

So it looks like this is my first entry. I have actually been blogging for years, but this is the first one under this specific name! My name is Cristofer if you don't know me already, and I'm going to be posting my thoughts on a variety of topics here moving forward.

Working 7 days a week is tough, and that is what my schedule usually looks like automatically, so between my two jobs I have to schedule things so that I end up getting a day off. The problem is that I often try to cram so much into that one day off, that I go back to work even more burnt out than I was before!

Obviously, this is a first world problem. I'm having fun, spending money, and enjoying myself right?

Yes, that is correct. Today for instance, I woke up early (after a very, very late night), and had an early breakfast with my boyfriend and his family at a nearby breakfast restaurant. We then went for a walk, visited a couple candy stores and toy shops, then spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the Glenbow museum. We then played card games, and went to dinner. After his family left us, we played video games, and then visited our friend's house for some vegan butter chicken and wine.

I'm going to bed happy, but exhausted. Should I try to schedule my next day off so that I spend most of it in bed? Completely undecided!
